Every year, as South Africa marks Youth Month in June, the familiar phrase echoes across headlines and hashtags: “Youth are the future.” But for millions of young people in communities like Eldorado Park, Slovo Park and Soweto, that future can feel impossibly far away.
We believe that the future begins with opportunity. And real opportunity starts with access – access to education, to accredited training and to employment that builds a life worth living.
Since 2020, we’ve partnered with businesses across the country to channel B-BBEE Skills Development and Socio-Economic Development funds into meaningful programmes. These are not short-term workshops or handouts. They are accredited qualifications in Occupationally Directed Educations Training and Development Practices (ODETDP) and Community Development, with a particular focus on Early Childhood Development – a critical foundation for South Africa’s long-term success.
Over 100 learners have graduated through our programmes. Many of them have gone on to become Assessors, Moderators and Facilitators – not just employed, but employing their skills to lift others. Every year, they return to train the next cohort. This is what legacy looks like.
